Mobile Installation Service

Additional Installation Service
In Arizona, as part of the regulations for installing an IID into our clients vehicles we have an additional installation service. We can install your device at a desired location as long as the paperwork is filled out and the permission for the installation site is granted by the client.
A Mobile DUI ignition interlock installation refers to the process of equipping a vehicle with an ignition interlock device (IID) at a mobile service location, rather than at a fixed installation center. This service offers a convenient alternative for individuals required to install such devices due to a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) conviction. Here's an overview of how the process typically works and what to expect:
Purpose of an Ignition Interlock Device
An IID is a breathalyzer device installed in a vehicle to prevent it from starting if the driver’s blood alcohol content (BAC) is above a preset limit, usually 0.02-0.025%, depending on state regulations. It serves as a safeguard to ensure compliance with court-ordered sobriety, allowing individuals to regain driving privileges while ensuring public safety.

Mobile Installation Process
- Scheduling an Appointment: Mobile IID installation services require you to schedule an appointment in advance. You’ll need to provide vehicle details, proof of legal requirement (court or DMV order), and payment information.
- Convenient Location: Unlike fixed centers, mobile services come to a designated location, such as your home, workplace, or another agreed spot. This flexibility is ideal for those with busy schedules or limited access to transportation.
- Professional Technician: A trained technician arrives with the necessary tools and equipment. They inspect the vehicle to determine the best installation approach, ensuring the device is both functional and discreet.
- Device Installation: The IID is wired into the vehicle’s ignition system. This involves connecting the device to the engine’s start mechanism, which allows it to control whether the vehicle can be started based on the results of a breath test. The process typically takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the complexity of the vehicle’s wiring.
- Calibration and Testing: After installation, the device is calibrated according to state-specific requirements. The technician performs multiple tests to ensure the device functions correctly and communicates effectively with the vehicle.
- User Training: Once installed, the technician provides a demonstration on how to use the IID. They explain how to perform breath tests, what to do if the device signals a failure, and the importance of routine maintenance and recalibration.
- Paperwork and Documentation: The technician completes all necessary paperwork to verify the installation complies with legal mandates. This documentation is often required by the court or DMV.
Benefits of Mobile Installation
Convenience: Eliminates the need for travel to a service center.
Time-Saving: Installation can be completed while the customer attends to other obligations.
Accessibility: Ideal for individuals in rural or remote areas without nearby installation centers.
Post-Installation Responsibilities
After installation, users must adhere to regular maintenance schedules, which may involve periodic calibration and monitoring to ensure the device remains accurate and functional. Additionally, users are responsible for any monthly service fees associated with the IID.
In summary, mobile IID installation streamlines the process by offering on-site service, ensuring compliance with DUI-related legal requirements while providing flexibility and convenience.
